Yulia is a secretary in a medical clinic. At the age of 15 she migrated from Russia to Canada with her older sister and her family. Their parents still live in Russia. Due to financial problems and problems with her sister and her brother in law, Yulia is anxious and nervous. Yulia has a new born with her Ukrainian husband. They have a working class but tranquil life until the war between Russia and Ukraine starts.

He is an electrical technician working in construction. He left Ukraine 10 years ago, lived in East Europe for 5 years and then migrated to Canada 5 years ago. he is an introvert, isolated, quiet guy. His parents and his younger bother live in Ukraine. He drinks a lot.
