performance date:
the concert performance will take place on february 10, 2017 at the ritz theatre at 7:00 pm. call time for performance will be 4:00 pm.

rehearsal schedule:
there will be a music-only rehearsal on december 3, 2016, location tbd.
additionally, the following dates are or may be required for principal and ensemble performers.

february 8, and 9th, 2017- mandatory tech rehearsals from 6-10 pm at the ritz theater company. additional rehearsals, which will take place on each saturday beginning in january may be necessary according to which part(s) the performer may be involved with. blocking rehearsals will take place on the following dates… 1/7, 1/14/, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4. rehearsals will take place either at the ritz theatre or hill studios in paulsboro, nj.

this concert performance will feature light blocking as well as limited use of props and set pieces. projection will be used throughout the show. there is no dance choreography involved. all dialogue and singing will be off-book with the exception of the dedicated ensemble singers who will be on book.

brief plot summary: set twenty years after the original events chronicled in “the wizard of oz,” “forever in oz” begins when the once idyllic land suffers from a growing and mysterious menace. dorothy, now married and with a young child has suffered as a result of her previous experiences in the distant realm and has sworn never to think of it again, until a strange visitor shows up at her door begging her return. dorothy must decide whether to go or not to go, and even more importantly, what is real and what isn’t.

remaining roles:

1. harry- (age range 20’s-30’s)
lead role- speaking and singing role. bari-tenor or tenor voice, must be able to sing up to g4. must also sing ensemble songs (tenor). this character is dorothy’s husband, a wounded world war 1 veteran struggling with his own traumatic past. stipend: $100.00

2. the humbug wizard- (age range, 30’s-60’s)
supporting role- speaking and singing role. must be older or be able to play older (50-60). tenor voice required (must be able to sing up to ab 4) and sing ensemble songs (tenor). this is the traditional humbug wizard portrayed in the original story. stipend: $50.00

all applicants should prepare an audition song. the recommended style for the audition song is legit, rogers and hammerstein/sondheim preferred.
