Job Description
we are a group of passionate filmmakers in university of hawaii at manoa’s academy of creative media, who are about to begin production on a short, comedy / mockumentary!
we are seeking comedic sag, union and non-union actors and improvisors to help us tell the story of fred forger, a superficial yet charming nature artist who hires a documentary team to film him as his enthusiastic venture in to seeing his questionable visions come to life.
think – if michael scott of nbc’s the office were passionate about experimental sculptures set in honolulu’s forests.
fred forger
20s – 30s male. narcissistic, experimental nature artist prone to accidents – must have affinity for slapstick comedy and outlandish self delusion.
ranger
30s – 40s male. hulk-like boss man at the forest reserve. nemesis to fred, wants to see his park maintained justly – and for fred to stay out of it.
pretty girl
early 20s. innocent, sweet, self absorbed, just like fred. interested in his art and eventually becomes a love interest.
other roles include:
interviewer: head of doc team, mostly from behind the camera
magazine curator, workers and guests of art gallery/ cafe
