two friends aida and mallory, arrive at a new boarding school. a school that teaches how to crash diet and starve effectively to obtain perfection. aida begins to worry about what goes on behind closed doors while mallory falls victim to the schools masked oppression, they slowly drift apart. aida races to save herself and her friend as she begins to realise graduating from here may not mean you leave with a diploma or even leave at all.

main character. sharp-witted and righteous, aida isn’t afraid to step out of line for the sake of what’s right. she is a loyal friend and questions anything that appears out of the ordinary.

aida’s best friend. her need to belong somewhere and be accepted is her fatal flaw. it drives her to be completely blinded by the sinister setting that her and her friend have chosen to enter into. this is what causes her to turn cold on aida for more like-minded people, right up until her end.

roommates/dorm neighbours of aida and mallory, kaelan along with cassia are long-standing residents of the school, they know all the ins and outs of the system and take mallory under their wing when aida and mallory fall out.

the teacher has the girls learning the technique referred to as “abstersion”, aka binging and purging. a very blunt individual, who wholly believes in the purpose of this school and shows no sympathy to students.

the head of the school, same as the teacher. very self assured and contained. aloof.
