Liv is a new mom trapped in a dark place she can’t escape. The joy she expected never came, and instead she’s swallowed by a heavy, suffocating numbness. Everything feels exhausting, even the simplest things. She can’t focus, can’t connect with her baby no matter how hard she tries, and she can’t shake the guilt that maybe her baby would be better off if she wasn’t here.
Tobias is a farm guy, used to fixing stuff and getting his hands dirty, but none of that helps with what his wife is going through. He’s happy living on the farm, but he knows the isolation makes things worse for her, and he feels guilty about it. Watching her struggle and feeling lost freaks him out, and doesn’t always bring out the best in him, since he’s not equipped to handle it the way he wishes he could. Still, he tries to help however he can and do his best to be there with a smile, even when he has no idea if he’s doing it right.
