"Camera Stolen" is a short video art piece created by artist Lacey Lennon.
Synopsis; An African-American actress (55-70 yrs) sits in a black convertible Camaro on location and performs a brief monologue describing a funny experience where her camcorder was stolen. The actress is based on Lacey's aunt who is around 70 years old. The monologue is based on a personal story that Lacey's aunt told her about a camcorder she owned back in the 90's that was stolen at a party. The video will be shot documentary style to appear like an actual conversation in a car. The car’s will be parked on a sunny tree-lined street in Mid City Los Angeles. The convertible top will be down and the tinted windows will be raised. The 4k video camera will be situated outside of the vehicle peering into the car. The scene will be shot through the tinted windows of the vehicle. The energy of the video should feel familiar and vérité, however, the lines of this project must be memorized verbatim.
