Job Description

Casting "Matilda." There will be 2 girls sharing the role of Matilda. Then, there will be 8 other featured children in each cast- 16 featured children total! 18 children total in the cast. There will not be any additional children cast or any sort of children’s ensemble. Matilda is a very demanding show for those 18 kids, so we are looking for very special children who bring many skills to the table and can work like young professionals, however it is also about having fun because, after all, you are still kids!

Children will first learn a short dance combination. It is best to wear dance shoes or sneakers and clothes that allow movement but are not super loose. After the dance call, children will sing a prepared song individually. Songs should not be longer than one minute and must have sheet music. Bring sheet music in the proper key. An accompanist will be provided. Singing from the show is acceptable but not at all necessary.

Adults: Adults will first audition with their prepared material individually. They will be seen in the order in which they arrive and check-in. Prepare one short song in the style of the show no longer than one minute in length. Bring sheet music in the proper key. An accompanist will be provided. After all the individual auditions are done, there will be a dance call. The dance call is required for all auditioning though some roles do not require dance.
