Job Description

“miranda” was written by the great american playwright bernard pomerance, best known for the mega hit “the elephant man”. mr. pomerance was struck by an article in the london times somewhere in the year 1500 that stated the hms sea venture had gone aground on an island off the coast of the americas and further historical record that shakespeare not only knew about america but based “the tempest” on that crash. pomerance then placed prospero and miranda, his daughter back in italy as a sort of sequel to “the tempest” – and took the play to a new level by creating a story based on reality.

the story takes place through flashback, in roanoke, in the 1500’s.

seeking 2 native american women to play members of the powhatan roanoke tribe. can be between the ages of 30 and 50. these are movement roles.
