the first of Violet's three best friends is an incredibly intelligent, sarcastic, and paranoid young woman. She has the strongest desire to go on this crazy adventure, but is the most outspoken and opposed due to the influence of her overbearing parents, (her father a psychiatrist, and her mother a lawyer). "Star Trek" is her biggest fandom, her 1990s white mini van even being painted like a starship enterprise shuttle. She eventually overcomes the fear of her parent's opinion and will do anything in her power to help her friends succeed in this seemingly impossible task; (the role requires a driver's license).

the loudest and most rambunctious of Violet's friends, while at the same time being the most affectionate. This is without a doubt the most exciting night of her life. Her biggest fandom is "Journey of Sorcerers" (Dungeons & Dragons) being an unbelievably talented game master both for her improvisation skills and theater background. Without a doubt, she would take a bullet, or in this case a laser blast, for any of her friends.

soft spoken, shy, overly honest and externally innocent. Her friends are her sanctuary and escape from her mother who has sheltered her from most things through her life. She often caves in to the needs of others, after she's made her objections known of course. She is on a mission to rescue her only child after the government informs her that her daughter has stolen "dangerous government property." What she doesn't know is that her daughter is also pregnant.

quite literally a Man in Black, a secret government agent in charge of dealing with the suppression of information regarding extraterrestrials. His father, also a government agent was the first to make contact and befriend "Jet" and "Dave" the two aliens who crash-landed in Roswell New Mexico in 1947. Hal finds himself at a crossroads between doing the government's bidding and doing what he feels is right, or as he puts it, what his father would have done. His soft spot is for Dave, one of the two brothers from the Roswell crash and a friend of his father's. They are constantly at odds with each other.
