Job Description

Seeking diverse singers from all backgrounds for the 2022 holiday season with New York Holiday Singers, Inc., the company behind the a cappella groups New York Holiday Choristers and Men Singing Carols.

Proof of vaccination required.

New York Holiday Choristers: Seeking sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses for a wide variety of holiday music for public and private events. Music features challenging contemporary styles, with some traditional styling as well. Four-part harmony.

Men Singing Carols: Seeking tenor 1s, tenor 2s, and basses to sing fun new jazz- and swing-influenced arrangements of holiday and popular tunes for private and public events. Mustaches and/or beards optional. Three-part harmony.

Singers for all groups must be proficient sight-readers or quick studies, excellent with contemporary styling, blending, and tight harmonies, willing to learn and memorize a large number of new arrangements on their own, and willing to work during the holiday season at public and private events. Expect challenging and exciting musical arrangements for all voice parts. Having a great feel for jazz and groove is a huge plus!

Rehearsals begin in September in NYC. Performances in NYC and the surrounding area between Thanksgiving and Christmas

All rehearsals are unpaid. Professional pay for performances.

Pays: $55.00 - $75.00/ Hour

Total: $55.00 - $75.00 for an estimated 1 hour of work

Additional: Rehearsals unpaid. Performance professional pay for performance. Higher hourly pay on holidays. Events usually run 1-2 hours.
