Born in China but moved to the US when she was young and went to college in the U.S. Has lived in the states for a long time and feels very American but still has deep Chinese roots and values. Supportive of her daughter, but doesn’t necessarily know what’s best for her.

Love to gossip and brag about her own children. More comfortable with Chinese culture and values than her sister. A bit reminiscent of Madame Liang in Ang Lee’s EAT DRINK MAN WOMAN (1994).
