We are a thesis team at the AFI Conservatory casting for our film, "Losing Roy Jiang", a coming of age story about two Asian American teens growing up a western society, dealing with sexuality, bullying and an angry Tiger Mom.
We are looking for three PRINCIPAL CAST:
Roy(15-24), Jenny (15-24) and Roy's conservative Mother (40-60).
Roy and Jenny: we would like to have a basic grasp of Mandarin but it's okay if they don't. Because Roy never speaks Mandarin to his family, ever though he can understand it. Mother: doesn't have to be able to speak English either, as a more recent immigrant it's probably better if she doesn't.
We are looking for non-actors and actors alike. Our production will be under SAG rules but we are also casting for non-Union members. We wanna see everyone!
Production is likely to be late September and early October.
If you're interested, please email a photo of yourself and some kind of reel or self introduction video.
If you have anyone you want to recommend, let us know too!
Looking forward to meeting you!
