by default leading the assembly as the old judge isn’t interested/physically capable on doing so. She’s named the “young judge” more as the “younger judge” of the two (she is between 60 and 75). Marleen is one of the only characters who is kind of knowing what she’s doing, or at least her motherly confidence makes her looks like she does. You can nevertheless perceive, in her gaze, that she’s not as much in control as she pretends to.

He is an intellectual with a huge ego and a lot of absurd etiquette. He has his own strict moral based on etiquette, but it can change due to context. The chaos of his inside mirrors the chaos of the outside. He constantly analyses himself towards the outside. Around his sickness, he has no awareness of time and space. He is extremely aware of himself, everything is perceived as an expansion of himself. He is sure of his contact with the cosmos, like a prophet in the streets. Nothing is weird, because he is responsible for everything, everything is there for him. He dressed old fashion classy but dirty. He tells Thomas Bernhard lines.
