Job Description

You must already be legally permitted to work in Canada to be eligible for this tour.

This tour will be a concert revue of all Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most iconic repertoire in celebration of his 70th Birthday. This will not be a staged nor choreographed project but rather a dramatic singing of the repertoire.
The tour will visit roughly 18 cities in BC of populations of 150,000 or less and is assisted by the generous financial support from the Province of British Columbia and Creative BC (Amplify BC).
Dates:
The Concert will be divided into two ‘legs’
Leg 1: June Rehearsals + Performances: June 16 - 28, 2019
Leg 2: September Rehearsals + Performances: Sept 11 - 28, 2019

Auditions:
General Call: March 16, starting at noon
Please register via the link below.
Call backs: March 19, starting at 7pm
You are encouraged to bring your own pianist, or you can make use of our on-site pianist for a $10 flat fee which can be paid at sign in (rehearsal not included).
If using the onsite pianist, please bring all your own hard copied sheet music in the proper keys. If you do not have proper piano vocal sheet music (charts are not accepted), we will not be able to hear you.
Prepare:
One piece from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical theatre repertoire
One contrasting piece from any musical of your choice
Note: we will hear your entire first song.

Professional Casting:
1 x Soprano: Legit soprano with classical colors with some belting required G3 to E6
1 x Tenor: Ab3 to Bb5
1 x Mezzo Belter: Very accomplished singer with wide dramatic range of vocal timbre, Mezzo with strong belt to Eb5
1 x Baritone/Bari-tenor: A3 to G4

We will also be choosing understudies for each voice type The understudies will be cast with priority given to those enrolled in the VAM Musical Theatre 3-Week Intensive Training Program where they will also be focusing on the repertoire of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The touring cast does not need to be involved in the Training Program to be eligible.

As this is a concert, and not a production, this contract does not fall under Equity jurisdiction (as confirmed by Equity themselves). Therefore we will be hiring the best person for the tour regardless of Equity status. Everyone is welcome to be heard.

Contracts:
Each performer contract will include the following:
$1000/week
$50 per diem for each day on tour
Accommodations while on tour
All performers must already be able to legally work in Canada.
