Liz is a model who accepts some acting gigs, but they are more along the lines of exploitation and fetish. She is topless and clad in lingerie for her one scene in the movie. The scene starts with the protagonist directing her, and when the protagonist calls cut, she breaks character (the character in the damsel scene) and becomes a sort of confidante as the protagonist tries to process his woes. The person who plays this role has some creative input. She can play the beginning of the scene as a naturally talented actress, or she can play a model with absolutely no acting skill, which will make her over-acting comical. She's not vapid, which her dialogue will show.

Laura is a model who dabbles in acting. Her scene starts with the making of a damsel-in-distress clip for the protagonist's new movie. When the protagonist calls cut, the two discuss a bad person (the Neckless Troll). Laura is clad in lingerie, but she is not topless because the location is in a park (it looks like deep forest, but it is a huge park). The person who plays the role will have some creative input. Although the character is clad in lingerie, the scene has the potential to be the funniest in the movie. It ends with improvisation, but it's not entirely spontaneous. The person who plays the role will work with the director before the day of the shoot to outline the structure as well as the boundaries. Lavalier microphones will be visible on the characters because it will show how poorly prepared the protagonist is as a director.

This is the version of the woman the protagonist remembers. He met her when he was drunk. She says things in a phone conversation that makes the viewer think something is wrong (she is shown as the protagonist imagines her.) Many of the things she says on the phone will be extra funny upon a re-watch. In a following scene, the protagonist meets the real Janine, but he later fantasizes about what could have happened if he lost her number and spent the rest of his life daydreaming about the one who got away. The daydream sequence is to be depicted more on the comedic side.

The Neckless Troll is just as much of a loser as the protagonist. The two characters constantly insult each other. When the protagonist finally realizes he has bad friends, he severs the relationship at the worst possible time, adding to the rule that every decision the protagonist makes is a bad one.

The protagonist is about to film a damsel in distress movie, but a phone call interrupts. The extra is in a bikini. She reacts to the ridiculous things the protagonist tells the caller.
