Job Description

Casting "Past Life," a play. Production states: "Simply Surreal have been producing plays for the fringe for seven years. The show revolves around Somers, a washed-up television personality who lives their own Dickensian nightmare when they are visited by the ghost of their past. This leads to an exploration of their past, the façade of celebrity culture and the effects the exposure and pressure of celebrity has on the people behind the name. The play aims to tackle some prevalent issues around today’s society, specifically looking at the challenges being in the public eye brings to mental health. This brings up some challenging subject matter, but it is incredibly important to bring awareness of these issues to the modern audience. In exploring these issues, the play also aims to look at the scripted nature of celebrity, where the person behind the façade is lost to the image they are told to portray."

Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations
Auditions on May 4-5 from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm at The Tron; rehearses at QMU Campus; runs August 22-27 in Edinburgh, UK.

Stipend
Additional: Pays £250.00 flat fee for rehearsal time. Profit shared basis from ticket sales for performance.
