we are casting for sue, a chinese american in her mid-50s. she is upbeat and energetic. in the caregiver support group she attends, sue is known for being solutions-oriented and putting a positive spin on difficult situations. in addition to caring for her mother-in-law with dementia, sue is the mother of two teenage sons. sue became a caregiver when mother-in-law emigrated from china after sue’s father-in-law passed away. even her positive outlook is not always enough to keep sue from becoming frustrated by her mother-in-law’s stream of criticisms. sue has a humorous side to her, mocking her chinese mother-in-law’s chinese accent when she is criticizing her.
