Brooke is around 22-23 and is away at college when she learns of her parents' accidental deaths. She heads home to get their affairs in order and is overwhelmed with everything there is to settle. She's highly intelligent, very easy to get along with and has a great sense of humor, even in adverse circumstances.
Kayla is a very capable small-town deputy who grew up in the county she now serves. She takes her job seriously and can be intimidating when the occasion calls for it. She's a close friend of the adoptive family and in her personal life is more relaxed, fun and witty.
Melissa is a successful, hyper-focused type who is well organized and has some issues with the need to control everything. Despite her strength she can be rattled by things that don't fit within her paradigm.
A General Practitioner who is knowledgeable and confident. Pretty straight forward role. Written with a male in mind but females welcome to audition as well.
A "shady: character we see throughout the film who seems to know more about an accidental death than he lets on. He's hardened and paranoid after several years in jail. He's seen and done pretty malicious things but still has a sense of morality and is probably hoping for a way out of his lifestyle.
