1917

1917

In the middle of World War I, two British soldiers are given orders to send a life-saving message to a battalion stationed far away. However, for them to do this, they must cross over into enemy lines with no backup. Schofield and Blake are two young corporals fighting for Britain in the heat of World War I. They are summoned to a meeting with the British General in which they are told they have to deliver a message to the 2nd Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment. The 1,600 troops who are set to ambush army of retreating soldiers are about to enter a deadly trap and they must be warned.

The movie wastes no time in showing us how dangerous their mission is and devastating it will be for the troops who are relying on that information. 1917 shows us the horrific reality of having travel through enemy territory knowing that if you don't survive, hundreds will die, including your brother. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Although the production calls a lot of attention to itself, it's worth every second of it's run.
