Cruella’s Emma Stone Talks About How It Felt To Receive Her Oscar From Leonardo DiCaprio

With Emma Stone’s excellent live-action portrayal of classic Disney villain Cruella de Vil coming up in the origin story film Cruella, she recently recalled a notable moment in her career. That is, of course, that special time in 2017 when she received an Oscar for her performance in La La Land. It’s not only the award that has the moment set in her mind, though, because the fact that one of her teenage crushes and idols, Leonardo DiCaprio, gave her the gold statue on stage made it an even more special event. Emma Stone recently reflected on how it felt to receive one of the most coveted awards in Hollywood from one of the most celebrated actors of our time.

She said, "That was what was going through my mind. And I was like, I'd seen Titanic seven and a half times in theaters. He was the love of my life. I had a picture of him in my bedroom that was signed, that I had gotten for my birthday when I was like 12 years old. And I was walking to Leo and I was like, ‘This is officially the most surreal moment of my life.’ I could not believe it. I think he probably thinks I'm a little weird, cause whenever I see him, I'm kind of like, 'Hey, how's it going?' You know, just in little moments either at the same event or something. He's very sweet though. But that was true, that was what was the craziest experience was the fact that it was him."
