As a result of closed sets and theaters, a slew of film projects were canceled last year. The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, is one among them. Jeffrey Wright plays James Gordon in the cast, and the Westworld actor recently discussed the challenges of filming during lockdown.
Since the all-star cast and minimal footage were given to the general public, there has been a lot of buzz around The Batman. In the midst of the pandemic, filming commenced, with enhanced safety and health measures in place. Matt Reeves' film was completed, although not without challenges. In a recent interview, Jeffrey Wright discussed his experience making the new film, saying, “It was gothic. It was sleuthful if that’s a word. It was mysterious, and it was tricky. It was tricky because of the conditions that we were working in. It was isolating for those of us who were away from home, out of the country, over in London. I experienced more quarantines than I would wish on anyone, going back and forth over the last six months. So it was a pretty dogged one to try to pull off. We were working in the teeth of the outbreak, and we were trying to protect ourselves, one another and the production. So it took a lot.”
