Born in Jonestown, Mississippi, a small agricultural town 60 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, Frednardo "Doryell" Davis's love for acting and singing debuted in his home church. Doryell eventually left the Mississippi Delta pursuing a degree in English from LeMoyne-Owen College and eventually graduated from the University of Memphis. It is at LeMoyne-Owen College that he sang in the concert and gospel choirs. While teaching inner city students in Memphis, he began acting at at the Hattiloo Theater where he would appear in plays such as The Wiz, A Raisin in the Sun, Crowns and so many more before eventually relocating to Washington, DC.
It is in the DC area that he continued his theatrical presence, but also participated in television and film opportunities of which he played leading characters - TVOne's For My Man and Our Father - A Short Film about Black Fatherhood.
