Biography
Ray Acevedo was born December 21, Puerto Rican Urban pop Singer and Actor.
In 1985, Ray joined the internationally famous Puerto Rican boy band Menudo,at the band's "golden era.” During his days in Menudo, Ray became one of the most powerful voices to have been a part of this famous band, singing such hits as "En San Juan me Enamore," “Panuelo Blanco Americano," and "It's You and Me All The Way," which became a massive international hit. Along with his fellow Menudo members, Ray starred in the Argentinian Soap Opera, "Por Siempre Amigos," which provided him a background in acting in front of the camera. Several years after Ray moved to NY and became immersed in Theater and became part of the Off-Off Broadway Company Theater for the New City, performing in many Plays including several Leads in Musicals.
In 2015, Ray launched his new single entitled “La Vi en Paris” which rose up the charts in several Latin American radio stations, the video release was a month later. During that current year Ray began promoting the song in places such as Miami, New York, Pennsylvania, Mexico and Panama. He was invited to participate in programs and events such as Los 40 Principales, La Voz which was a contest located in Panama City, a benefit for Myositis and the NoH8 campaign which helps spread the word against social prejudices. For the third year in a row Ray has also performed at the SSTESOL teacher convention entertaining teachers who are teachers of English to Speakers of other Languages. He has also been an invited guest to the World-Famous Street Festival Calle 8 in Miami to perform on the stages of Miami Herald, Univision and Coca Cola.
In between his promotional touring and creating new music, Ray has developed his ability in acting by joining DLE Films. He has been in movies such as “Vein”, Sweet N Sour”, “Money is the Pleasure”, “Sam”, Vandal” and “The Last One”, amongst others. He has acted in these films but has also served as musical composer and producer in several.
Ray Acevedo is entering a new stage in his career and is currently working on a new genre of music called Urban Pop. His new song released March 2018 is entitled La Perfecta, he will be promoting the song in Colombia, Puerto Rico and the United States, and he will be performing live at the Puerto Rican Day Parade and Miss Teen United States, in Orlando, Florida. He has also opened a new chapter in his Acting trajectory by signing with Central Florida Talent Agency in Orlando.
