I am a German-Turkish origin, born and raised in Goettingen / Germany.
From an early age I inspired people with my talent to tell stories and poems and play different characters. Until the present, I write short stories, poems and have a lively, very abstract and black-humored fantasy.
The end of 2003 I moved to New Zealand where I lived for a long time, worked in the acting industry and made further educations. Therefore, I speak not only fluent turkish but also nearly accent-free English.
I participated in numerous productions on national and international levels.
This includes productions from the Australian / New Zealand region and productions from the United States and India.
I completed a part of my acting training in New Zealand and later continued this profession in Germany.
My strengths lies in drama but also in action-packed roles. I think that I am also a pretty funny person who accordingly also has comedy skills.
I am always seeking the big challenge and am very pleased, if I may play a role in which I can develop a character fully. I am well to direct and I offer new possibilities if required.
I am shapeable, but also bring my personal experiences to a role - in which I always make sure the role is not "too personally". I give my character my experiences, but don´t make the role too personal.
Every day I am learning new things - because I have the philosophy that you never stop learning as an actor. That you are never “complete”. Therefore, I am grateful for those who give me instructions and new perceptions I can work with. Not only because of that I think a good direction, a good director is very important.
I am a clever, curious and lively woman that can be inspired quickly. I know when to act as a grown up, but also kept my childlike-curiosity. I have no reservations and no fears "to make a fool out of me", if it serves the role.
In my career as an actress, I had already many great encounters with colleagues and directors and I always took pieces and bits of them with me. I had the opportunity to participate in great projects and to face difficult tasks and solve them - and I look forward to each new great project that requires my skills, promotes me and introduces me to new challenges.
Sincerely,
Yazmeen Baker
