Hi my name is Lauren Gledhill (also known as Lauren Marie). I am 17 years old; a 5ft female with blonde hair and brown eyes. I am confident, reliable, self-motivated and determined. Other positive factors of me include my intellectual and professional level.
I am currently studying Performance at Leeds City College. So far on this course i have studied principles of acting, urban dance, physical theatre, jazz dance, contemporary, experimental theatre and singing.
Outside of college and in my free time i also study classical ballet, tap and modern at Peace Dance Academy in Yeadon, Leeds. These 3 areas of dance are my main forte's as i have been studying them since the age of 3 years old.
When I am not at college or in dance lessons/rehearsals, I am teaching dance to a group of small children (age range of 5-8 years old) at Centre Stage Academy in Yeadon, Leeds. I also enjoy helping with the Jazz 1 and mini street classes at Peace Dance Academy. Other than working and helping in the performing arts industry, for the past 5/6 years, i have volunteered for different groups including the youth club on Tuesdays, holiday club through school holidays and Big Initiative (active youth group) at Greenwood Youth and Community Centre, Swain House.
In May 2013 I performed in a group piece with Peace Dance Academy in the Royal Albert Hall, in London. In May 2014 I was asked by a tutor at college to travel to Portugal for 1 week to perform in a physical theatre piece for the film festival on the 20th of July.
Between the years of 2005 and 2009 I spent some time living in Spain. Here is where my love for the performing arts was discovered. I was constantly performing in pubs (outside in beer gardens), opening theatre's up, in the Pride of Spain awards, etc...
