Production states: "Long Wharf Theatre is closing out its season by partnering with the City of New Haven and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas to bring an outdoor concert production of the musical, ‘Passing Strange’ by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, directed by Cheyenne Barboza.
We are celebrating the many stages of New Haven by performing this electrifying rock musical in local neighborhoods and we need you!
Seeking local, non-union Black and Afro-Latinx artists to be in the concert.
‘Passing Strange’ is a comedy-drama rock musical about a young Black man that goes on a quest for 'The Real,' journeying from the churches and middle-class dreams of South Central LA, and venturing through Europe, passing from place to place, lover to lover, through gospel, punk, blues, and rock, to find his identity as an artist."
Rehearsal and Production Dates & Locations
Rehearses Wed.-Sun. (weekday nights and weekends); performs in person in New Haven, CT
Production states: "Note: This is an in person production. Rehearsals will take place in person indoors at Long Wharf Theatre, with COVID-19 safety compliance procedures in place, including masks, distancing, and weekly testing for all involved. Performances will take place outdoors, and will abide by distancing guidelines for performers and audiences."
